This is the first in a series. Music recorded in the simplest way, live, with one mic. Using a Scully 280 B mono tape deck, a deck that was given to me by Toody Cole (DEAD MOON) This particular session was recorded in an empty dance studio. The room sounds amazing. This is a short run of 20 copies only. Please feel free to download songs with your purchase.
Dead Mono is a nod to Fred Cole and Dead Moon. These sessions are recorded on Fred Cole’s mono Scully tape deck. A tape deck he never had a chance to get up and running. I hope he’d be happy knowing his old tape deck is alive, well, and recording music. Fred was also know for cutting his own records on his Presto lathe. One very similar to the one I use.
